Meet our Moi Doll Bloggers!
Hey, I’m Darcey Rose, the founder and chief editor of La Vie De Moi! I started this in order to produce a new force of media in which a healthier and more realistic image is promoted towards young women. If I can make at least one young girl smile and feel more confident about herself, then my job is done.
I’m just a Geordie girl with a slight french obsession and a desire to see a more emotional happy world. And with a bit of motivation and stylish flare, I believe that I will achieve this!
I’ve hired a team of inspirational and unique bloggers to create a strong force against the plastic surgery and underweight images that are promoted towards us. We are all just normal girls with insecurities, with flaws, but thats what makes us who we are. We aren’t perfect. I am my own worst enemy, I criticise every move I make, every word I say. This is all due to the media. It makes so many feel worthless, not good enough. I may not be able to take over the world, but if I can spread this message to just a few, then I know at least one step has been taken. We are all worth something.
“Be proud of where you’re from, be proud of who you are… and wear a cute outfit at the same time!”
I’m a pretty open minded person and I’d like to think of myself as vaguely interesting. Controversial topics are my forte and I’m not afraid to voice what I think. I believe people go through a lot of crap in life, it happens. Nevertheless, keeping a positive attitude, accepting things or people for what and who they are is important. Sometimes I regret the chances I didn’t take but slowly I’m starting to rebuild a happier, better version of myself and very much like the fictional character, Augustus:

My style is very simple and classic but the hoarder in me loves vintage it’s an obsession! Living in London opened my eyes, so what if you want to wear a tablecloth? Just flaunt it and let your insecurities shine through they make you YOU. Personally my interest in fashion began at school I was constantly reminded of my stammer, until I had my first textile lesson this became my prerogative and I seen myself in a different way, although I still struggle with speech I never struggle with my confidence.
“Be yourself, everyone else is taken.”
My name is Gabrielle and my style is unique and creative. I decided to blog for Moi Doll as from a young age I’ve loved everything to do with fashion. I saw the opportunity so I took it. Fashion is something I never got to do even though it’s what I’ve always wanted to do, if you’ve ever had a dream/goal you should take any opportunity to achieve it. Although, I do have my insecurities, my biggest being my physical appearance, I was bullied when I was younger about the way I looked, when it came to college I decided to dye my hair and I even watched make-up tutorials to feel more confident in the way I looked, however I ended up losing a lot of weight due to the stress of finding a lump on my breast. I got the all clear but the swelling from the lump made one breast appear much larger than the other and I felt insecure when I wore certain clothing. 1-2 years down the line, it’s still there, but I’ve learned to accept it and be myself.
“Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself”.
Hey I’m Alix. I’m one of those girls who seems to spend all her spare time and money on clothes yet never has stuff to wear! I’d describe my usual style as quite preppy and feminine; I’m obsessed with Blair Waldorf, skirts and anything with a collar. You only have to take one look at my wardrobe to see that my style changes all the time depending on how I feel that day. I also own three cats – so a lint roller for my clothes is somewhat of a necessity!
Hopefully through being a Moi Doll I can reiterate what the other girls have said and that being different and individual is what makes you unique; those quirky things you don’t like about yourself is actually what makes you special. Sometimes I feel quite shy around others, but I just try to remember that everyone has their own little thing that they stress about, so it’s never as big a deal as I worry it is.
‘Everything will be okay in the end. If it’s not okay, it’s not the end.’
I’m Harriet, a 21-year-old, cat eye obsessed, music loving, red lipstick hoarding, shoe-a-holic with a desire to travel the world! My passions lie in all things fashion, beauty, travel and music. I am definitely one of those girls born in the wrong era, and yearn for the days of the swinging sixties. But for now I have settled with taking inspiration from the ‘it’ girls of that era and attempt to encapsulate the essence of their style.
Basically i’m your average 21 year old who is addicted to lipstick, spends far too much money in Topshop and loves good food, good music and a good vintage shop. I’ve just finished Uni and am attempting (and a lot of the time failing) to take my first big steps into the real world, which can be scary.
One of my biggest insecurities has always been my appearance. As early as I can remember I have always wanted to change the way I look. Be it my weight, hair, height, almost everything! I still feel this way a lot of the time and find it hard to be 100% happy in my own skin, but I’m working at it. That’s why I’m so excited to be writing as a Moi Doll; to help other normal young woman like me feel better about themselves and know that they are not alone in their insecurities.
