Amber Rose and Blac Chyna Shake Off The Haters

Last week we witnessed the MTV’s Virtual Music Awards (VMA’s) where there were a lot of amazingly styled ladies and perfectly dressed men flaunting all they had for the press on the red carpet before the event. Amongst them all was Amber Rose and Blac Chyna, both known having attended the VMA’s before but never like they did this year.

Often celebrities complete stunts during the VMA’s so that the press talk about it, such as Miley provocatively dancing with Robin Thicke in 2014 or Britney Spears bringing a snake on to the stage in 2001. However, this year Amber and Blac decided they needed to bring something a bit more controversial to the award ceremony. Having being total fashionistas anyway we knew before the awards that these girls would be able to rock any outfit and they totally did.

If you’ve been living under a rock and haven’t heard about what these lovely ladies turned up in last week or even if you have seen it but didn’t quite get it. Let me explain, Amber Rose and Blac Chyna decided to dress as the many derogative words and Screen Shot 2015-09-05 at 22.48.02phrases they’ve been called over their lifetime; literally. The girls showed up to the red carpet in skin coloured outfits with colourful words and phrases all over them, at first
people just thought it was another celebrity stunt but the more they looked the clearer it became. Words that were featured on both of the girl’s outfits were; bitch, gold digger, stripper, slut and whore. They were also accompanied by two guys in black outfits with ‘faggot’ in white expressed all over their outfits.

In our society and within the media people think it’s okay to call other people names and degrade them, having both been victims of bullies and verbal attackScreen Shot 2015-09-05 at 22.49.41ers the girls decided they needed to take a stand against thepeople that had put them down. Simply by dressing as these words the girls showed America and the rest of the world that they are accepting what they have been called and they were strong enough to ignore and shake off the hate.

It’s not always easy to face your fears and these girls probably had their doubts when they had the idea, but doing this will go down in the fashion history books as simply amazing. Not only are they both trying to promote to our younger generation that we should love ourselves but they are also sending the message to not let the haters become better than you. Rise above them and allow yourself to never sink to their level.

I’m pretty sure the people that have bullied and verbally attacked Amber and Blac are now regretting it majorly because not only did they rock the whole of the red carpet in their amazing outfits but I bet their earning a lot more money and living a life than them.
This is just helps to prove that people that you wouldn’t even expect to have been called horribleScreen Shot 2015-09-05 at 22.49.51 names actually have, but they haven’t let it get them down. People often say that sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me, this isn’t true. Words can hurt more than any physical pain because it causes emotional damage. Instead of taking notice of the haters and the bullies just try to find the people that love you and don’t surround yourself with negative energy, however, if you do happen to come across these people in your life try to let them make you a better person and shape you into someone who would never cause emotional pain.
